Web Designing – The basics
Web designing is a job which also allows the creative hunger of the person to be fulfilled. Web designing entails turning the text into something which attracts the eye and compels the customers to visit again and again.
What are the requisites for a good web designer?
As the word designer hints, one needs to design. However, in the present digital world designing is completely different from the normal world. One will have to deal different proportions, typography, grid systems, color theory and web fonts. You will have to be well versed in using color palettes for different moods.
One must have an open mind and think how the customers feel. Therefore one will lay out the pages and the content along with a site map and try to predict how the user will travel along the web. Will they click to the social media or look for the contact information. A good designer will construct a skeletal frame with key components of the web page.
Any designer or craftsman will need the correct tools to complete the design. Your toolbox must contain all the tools for creating mockups, creating logos and images, and also be able to modify or enhance these designs. Examples of such tools are Photoshop and Sketch, Editors.
One important criterion for any web designer is knowledge of HTML and CSS. CSS allows browsers to format and style HTML for a web page. It makes the text and content look pleasing to the eye and uses its ability to change colors and fonts to make this possible.
If the web designer can also program using JavaScript, Angular JS, it will enable the site to become interactive e.g. Twitter feeds that update automatically, the user can log in for some additional features or image sliders….the possibilities are immense.
Coming to the management part, one will need to be organized and creative in his web design work. One important attribute of a good web designer is to manage his time judiciously and complete tasks in a given time period. He must be well versed in project tracking tools like Trello or JIRA.
