Research has revealed there is a relationship between the bounce rate of a page and its organic position. The higher a web page’s bounce rate is, the lower it’s ranked in search. The logic is simple-If a user spends more time on a page; it means he or she has obtained the information they were looking for. A site with proper engagement up will have a better search engine results pages (SERPs).
A well-formatted content with small paragraphs interspersed with one sentence paragraphs sparingly immediately catches the user’s eyes. This has been proved in research. Use shorter sentences since they are easier to understand and not confusing. Break longer sentences into smaller more manageable sentences. In today’s world, time is always a premium and users don’t read the site but scan. To benefit the user, create plenty of bright and informative sub-headers which guide the user to his final destination.
When there is a profusion of data, try to collate it into bullets and subheaders with text in bold to help the scanning viewer. Use Bucket Brigade copywriting techniques which mostly are a clever ploy to attract user’s attention. The method employs a trigger word or phrase like “Look” or a colon
